This video demonstrates a novice clinician with no prior ultrasonography training using an AI-enabled ultrasonography tool (Butterfly IQ+) to estimate fetal gestational age. In a prospective study, we enrolled 400 pregnant individuals with due dates confirmed by first-trimester ultrasonography. At follow-up visits randomly assigned throughout gestation, novice clinicians using the AI-enabled device estimated gestational age. The study compared these estimates with those of credentialed sonographers using traditional ultrasonography machines performing standard fetal biometry at the same visit. Results showed that the AI-enabled tool's gestational age estimation was statistically equivalent to the clinical standard when used by novice providers. This technology has the potential to improve access to prenatal care in resource-limited settings by enabling accurate fetal age estimation without the need for extensive sonography training.
