Even an artist sometimes draws a blank.

When that happens to Nick Brown, he turns to the Artificial Intelligence chat bot, “ChatGPT” for answers.

The self-described ‘artsy techie’ is merging his two interests just like he mixes materials: “It’s all about the layering,” he said as he scraped paint off a canvas.

In each painting, there is a sort of signature – a sequence of ABCs and 123s, subtle reminders about life-long learning.

“As adults we don’t listen to our inner child and one way is to listen to the things we learned as children – our ABCs and our 123s,” he said.

In some ways, it’s about reclaiming an innocence that is often lost in the trauma of the adult world.
