Can Artificial Intelligence make moral decisions? In this video, Insoo Hyun, Director of the Center for Life Sciences at the Museum of Sciences, dives into the ethics of AI decision-making. For example, in the trolley problem, when a self-driving car can either hit one or five individuals, it may seem straightforward to program the AI to decide one way or another every time. However, that decision does not represent any emotional investment on the part of the AI, and instead reflects the values of the programmer.
