Meet SORA- Open AI's New Text-to-Video Model | AI Video Generator | New Era of Generative AI #shorts

Sora, a text-to-video model crafted by OpenAI, an AI research organization headquartered in the United States, is capable of creating videos from descriptive prompts, extending the duration of existing videos in both forward and backward directions, and generating videos from static images. As of February 2024, it remains unreleased and inaccessible to the general public.

Prior to Sora's debut, other text-to-video models like Meta's Make-A-Video, Runway's Gen-2, and Google's Lumiere had already been developed, with Lumiere still in its research phase as of February 2024. OpenAI had previously introduced DALL·E 3, its third DALL-E text-to-image model, in September 2023.

Named after the Japanese word for sky, symbolizing its boundless creativity, Sora was first showcased by OpenAI on February 15, 2024. The company released various high-definition video clips generated by Sora, ranging from an SUV navigating a mountain road to animated scenes of fictional creatures. Although OpenAI plans to eventually make Sora available to the public, no specific timeline has been provided. The company conducted adversarial testing on the model with a small "red team" of experts and sought feedback from creative professionals regarding its utility in artistic endeavors.
