Artificial Intelligence has been a buzzword ever since the advent of ChatGPT. Today, everyone is either fascinated or concerned about the effects that AI can have in our lives over the coming decade. But not many know the captivating story of the emergence of this revolutionary technology.

It all started in the 1960s and continued to evolve slowly over the coming decades. The real breakthrough came in year 2015. When an AI program “Alpha Go Zero” played the Chinese game “Go” with one of the greatest Go players in the world, Fan Hui. The game Go for decades has been considered to be the iron test of the AI technology and for decades the AI program was unable to beat even small children let alone a world champion. But this time, it was different, Alpha Go Zero beat the world champion Fan Hui multiple times in the game “Go”.

There began a technological revolution that not only would change our lives but also may threaten the existence of humankind.
